Jarvis at DSEI 2019
We are recovering after a very busy but exciting time at DSEI last week. Our 5th time exhibiting and our best stand to date. After a difficult set up on the Sunday before and more of the same on Monday, Charlie our Sales Co-ordinator and owner Kay were ready on the stand at opening time. It seems as though the show started with a bang and this carried on for the first three days.
Existing customers paid us a visit along with some new prospects and people we have not spoken to for some while. Suppliers also visited and chatted to us. The stand buzzed. We had two colleagues help us out each day. Some of them had not visited the exhibition before and were overwhelmed with the size of the show. Charlie and Kay wore camouflage dresses on some days which went down a storm with everyone who saw them and they certainly attracted people on to the stand. Some military ladies want them as their uniform!
Our first DSEI was in 2009 and we were offered a stand two weeks prior to the start of the show. Two of us packed up as much as we could carry in backpacks and went along not knowing how big a deal DSEI is. Over the following DSEI exhibitions we learned a lot and with the help of design agency Bamb we went large this year but in a sophisticated way. A ‘less is more’ attitude. We had a bespoke designed and built exhibition stand, place cards to give our customers products a case study that visitors could read and lastly we invested in a custom video that shows our facility and staff working on military textile solutions.
I am very proud of what we have achieved as a company this year at DSEI. I felt we had grown up. Thank you to all my staff and the companies who helped us along the way especially Bamb for the professional attitude and helpful advice.
